I was on a sabbatical last week and sat down to begin reading a little book titled “A Tale of Three Kings” by Gene Edwards. I didn’t get up until I had finished the book. It is not a long book by could possibly be packed full of more truths than many books 4x’s as long. It is a narrative about the lives of Saul, David and Absalom….but together.

God allows people like Saul and Absalom to be in our lives because he desires to cut out of our lives the very things which are leading us to become just like Saul and Absolum. No matter the situation, whether a cave or a palace, our responsibility is to be HOLY FOCUSSED on the Lord and His will. We are to wait until it is God’s timing and God’s situation before we do anything…even if our life is in jeopardy.

In ministry, there are times when we look around us and see that our peers are seemingly being blessed by God. We question peers who have shaky theology (AT BEST) on T.V. having a greater influence, greater power, greater wealth and we wonder, “God Why?” We have worked for bosses in church who we think we know more than and could lead better than. But is our responsibility to be focussed on their shortcomings or what we perceive to be an injustice? NO! We are to trust God….
