Its been about 8 months since the last big outbreak of fires here in CA. That time we could see the flames from our house and two families in our small group had to flee their homes. They and their homes were fine in the end but it was a very unpredictable time. The fires are back but this time they are north of us. There are about 1,400 fires covering thousands and thousands of acres. It is very hot out here and there really doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Please pray for the safety of our firefighters who risk their lives to keep people and even their possessions safe.

If you don’t know, the rainy season here is late winter. That is really the only time that it rains all year long, except for a few mists. The better the rainy season is, the better the burn season is. Everything grows well, then dies and is just sitting there waiting to ignight. A flying loose ember or a cigarette butt is all that it takes to take down an entire forest…its just life out here in CA….thanks for your prayers..
