Laying on of hands and anointing with oil is not charasmatic

I know it sounds crazy to some and a “no brain-er” to others but the laying on of hands and anointing with oil should never be confused with being charismatic (in the hyper-sense). The Biblical practice of the laying on of hands is one of the most beautiful declarations of God’s power and man’s faith that I can think of outside of salvation. James 5:14 states, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” A woman with cancer and her daughter came in for prayer three months ago and I was available to pray with her and anoint her head with oil. The daughter called two weeks ago with news that her mother had been healed. The Doctors did not understand what had happened but she had been fully restored. This is the God we serve. We serve a God of miracles…a healing God. The Bible is clear about this topic. Oil is to be used when praying for sickness and not just any reason. There is nothing holy about the oil but rather a symbol of the ordinary combined with the extraordinary (Holy Spirit), can do amazingly miraculous things! I was able to lay hands on a man recently diagnosed with inoperable Cancer. My prayer is for God to do another miracle like I have seen before!
